Doggie Cakes – Dog Bakery and Boutique in New Port Richey, Florida was contacted by a member of the Tampa Jaycees to assist with promotion of The Hungry Hounds and Famished Felines Pet Food Drive & Give-a-Way, which they are coordinating in partnership with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. The more pets we can feed, the less dogs and cats given up to local animal shelters. The recession and poor economy have hit Tampa Bay hard and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and the Tampa Jaycees want to help the unemployed, low-income or homeless who are in need of food for their beloved pets. The Hungry Hounds and Famished Felines Pet Food Drive & Give-a-Way will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay located at 3607 N. Armenia Avenue, Tampa (Google Map), from 10:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Those in need of pet food assistance are asked to come to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay any time between 10:30 am – 4:30 pm on Saturday, June 27th for complimentary dog/cat food. We are also seeking pet food donations and they can be dropped off at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay on event day any time during the scheduled event hours. Dry and wet food is accepted, plus any variety of dog biscuits or cat treats.
